Thames Estuary Red Sands Sea Fort
--
Width: 29 cm Height: 39.5 cm Watercolour, Ink and Gesso
I was able to take a trip down the Thames Estuary on the Waverley paddle steamer from Whitstable to London Tower Pier and visit the Red Sands Sea Forts part of the Maunsell Forts built in the Second World War in the Thames Estuary to defend the United Kingdom.
The forts are very impressive and from a distance look like monsters on stilts rising out of the sea.
The forts and stilts have been painted with Gesso, which has been tinted with watercolour paint and Ink.
My signature is located on the front lower right hand corner of the painting.
