Reaching the summit of Sutton Bank you are in the North York Moors and a beautiful view awaits you. To get the best view it is worth stopping and taking the footpath to see the view that Turner saw and sketched of on his travels. The watercolour painting has many thin washes over a few days and was very pleased with how the distance fields disappear into the horizon and dramatic sky.
